My experience of total hip replacement by Mr Longstaff has been amazing, throughout consultation, the procedure and aftercare. My operation was 12 weeks ago, I was walking without pain on the day after and was home the following day. The operation was performed under spinal anaesthetic, without any pain, stress or after-effects. I have subsequently walked over 3 miles on several occasions and feel that my hip is completely normal. I describe the "scar" as cosmetic.

I had a painful right knee and saw Mr Longstaff in August 2016. He scheduled Xray and MRI that displayed a torn meniscus. He thought some physio would be prudent before any knee operation. Physio did not improve the knee so arthroscopy was scheduled and the operation was successful. No post-operative issues at all and the pain has gone so I have to thank Mr Longstaff for his skill and advice.

My hip finally seized up in February 2016 and I was seen my Mr Longstaff in May. After see how I walked into the room before examining the x-ray he agreed I needed a new hip. He carefully examined me ,he explained there were various options but the best was a complete replacement.As a Jehovah Witness I raised the issue of blood transfusion, he agreed to operate with out blood but with cell saver, which he used. When I eventually had the operation in November 2016 ,the whole staff were very professional and took good care of me.The treatment on the ward in Durham was again of everything I needed. The scar healed up quickly,I was back walking without pain.There was little bruising and no other pains from the way they treated me. He was helpful in the follow up as to do and don't.If I need another operation for other side I will certainly go back to Mr Longstaff.

I have had two knee replacements and both were performed by Mr Lee Longstaff. The first was in July 2015 and the second in November 2016. I found Mr Longstaff patient and caring and he answered all my questions fully. I was very anxious but Mr Longstaff never hurried me or pushed me to make decisions that I wasn't ready to take. If I ever had any need for further surgery, I would not hesitate to have him as my surgeon of choice.

I had a tear of my acl from a football injury and was referred to dr Longstaff. In the consultation he listening to what my symptoms were and assess me following the MRI scan. I was given the option of key hole surgery or Physio but this wasn't the first time so I opted for the surgery. I was fully informed of what was happening at all times On the day of the surgery mr Longstaff went through everything again and proceeded with the operation. The operation was a success and I was up with weigth in it the same day. Once the dressing was off there were 3 small puncture wounds that has stitches in. They are not visible now, 3 months later. If I had any further problems I would definitely opt for mr Longstaff
